Niegel’s Ten Year Tenure House Party

A decade of leadership - say what?!?

For real though. Honey, it's time to party ‘cuz Niegel's been leading The Flea as Artistic Director for ten years.

He was originally tasked with expanding The Flea’s artistic output as it entered a new three-theater facility. But in 2021, Niegel was forced to pivot. He ended up guiding the organization through a miraculous refounding to support and invest in experimental art by Black, brown and queer artists. He now focuses on artistic creation, programs, and impact on the wider field under this new mission.

For the past decade, Niegel has brought his singular artistry and vision to Flea productions (Scraps, Syncing Ink, The Worthy) and programs (Flea Fridays, Juneteenth) while championing new work by established and early career artists.

Put June 6th in your calendar and get ready for the house party of the decade. All proceeds from this event will directly support The Flea's excellent artistic programming, for which Niegel is renowned.
